So, you or your web designer just created  this terrific website for you…now what?Search Engine Optimization - Can Your Business Be found in Search Engines?

Make sure your website’s URL address (URL = Uniform Resource Locator) is registered with all of the search engines….not just Google. There are hundreds and hundreds of search engines out there.

To register with Google, log onto: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

To register with Yahoo, log onto: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit/

To register with Bing, log onto: http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx

There are several websites who will register your URL address for – some charge a minimal amount but there are many others who will submit to hundreds of search engines for FREE. I like to use:

EntireWeb.com
AddMe.com

And last but not least, before you submit your URL to the search engines, create a sitemap. I highly recommend using a plug-in called

Google XML Sitemaps

This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines to better index your blog.

Within 5 minutes, a site map is created and then automatically to submitted to Google, Yahoo, Bing and each page of your website is crawled and indexed.  Be sure to use keywords throughout your entire website but make sure it can be read by your visitors.
